website update

The fair is over and I´m unpacking and getting ready for new creations.
There were so many people on Saturday - I sold quite a few bears just after the opening. It was so much fun to meet up with collectors and fellow bear makers again.

This fair is a mix of all things handmade. Bearmaking isn´t big in Denmark, so the organicer have choosen to put us all together: beads, patchwork, yarn, dolls ect. . This bring a lot of people to the fair, but unfortenately not only people who are interested in bears :o). So - I have my sales on saturdays, always. Sunday are more quiet - lots of time to chat and visit the other stalls.
I did buy some yarn and beads for jewelry and of course a bit mohair for new bears.

Not all bears found new homes during the weekend. I have listed those puur little souls on my website, and hope they will find a new loving home.

This is Dempsey - one of the bears left back. He is now available through my website together with some of his little friends.

Time to make creations for the 'Pay if Forward' post. This is going to be so much fun. I´m really looking forward to this. Have an idea - have to see how it will work out :o)

Almost ready

I´m almost ready - two more bears are finished. One more to go - I hope. Have to start the final preparations for the show on thursday at the latest. Plan the look at the table, pack up business cards, bears, table clothes ect.

This little fellow is one of the latest. Eddie, he is called. Made of a grey curly mohair with a brown backing. I cut of most of the pile to have the back to be shown more. It gives him a lovely old look - I really like that.

Now it looks like I have been really really busy... but that´s not so. A while ago I create these wooden tags with images of Mother and Child - I though they would be perfect for Mothers day.
Only to find out, I´m late again. I just realisted it was Mothers Day in the UK LAST weekend - duhh. I Denmark Mothers Day are on the second sunday in May, so I though I had lots of time.

Well - I hadn´t. I have listed them anyhow. I think they are really beautiful. I like those images of Mother and Child - and they CAN be used for anything else. Ornament, on gifts, as decoration ect.

Created with old music sheets, rubber stamps, lovely images and silver glitter on the egde.

Remember the fabric I revceived from kathy at Catnip Studio a while ago?

This is what I created from that fabric - beautiful hearts with old lace and vintage buttons. I love the way they turned out and the blue color too.

A tiny break

Okay - I know I couldn´t be doing this. A few days ago some jewelry making supply arrived in my studio. Little Bird pendants, vintage bead caps, pearls and stuff. I put it all aside - you know, I had to make some bears for that show.
Today I just had to have a teeny little break in the bear making...

A few more ready to go

Just a quick note to show you what I have been working on the last couple of days.

This little fellow is Zander - 3 inch. Made of the most lovely ice blue long pile mini mohair and holding his little blanket - all ready to find a new home.

Upcoming Events

This past weekend I held a Bear Making class - an anual event. Or should I say biannual, as it has become. Every spring and every fall I´m having a Bear Making Class.
So a couple of days last week was spend preparing the class.


New patterns were made and turned into kits, fabric was cut, wool weighted and stores in platic bags ect. The kits have to include all the materials for the bears they are going to sew in the class. This time I had two models to choose from. A tiny one about 3 inch and a large one about 5.5 inch.



Along with the kits I also bring lots of mohair to choose from for different projects. Long pile mohair, short pile mohair, mini mohair, different size eyes and join sets.

Here you can see everything lined up, just wait for the participants. I totally forgot to take a photo during the class - duhh. They all had a great time sewing these little ones, and went home with a little bear each - some even with two. This is always so much fun.

Now the spring shows are approaching. First one to come is Sydney Teddy Bear Fair on March 22th. I won´t be there in person, only some of my bears. They will be displayed on the International Traders Table. I would have loved to travel with them - maybe some other time.

Next show is the Spring Theme Online Show at Bear Paths on March 25th. I have 3 little ones available at this show.

I´m curently working on bears for a real show here in Denmark held on March 28th and 29th.

These little ones are patiently waiting for some more sisters and brothers to be finished for the fair. I have about 8 finished at this time - just about 10 more to go ... Oh well, I´ll have to see how things turns out. Thankfully I have a few days off from work later this week - phew.

Better get back to some bearmaking.

Bear in a Box Project

I finally finished that little souls on my working table yestersay. I knew she was going to be a Bear in a Box project. Just couldn´t decided how the box was going to look like.
At the same time Eileen over at Stars Fault uploaded two scaps on her beautiful blog to be used for projects for free - and there it was. When I saw the scrap Eileen had made I knew it was the one I had to use on my box for Little Ethel.

I covered the box with the scrap all over except for the background for wich I used paper from an old book, rubber stamp and an old key. I placed a wooden block for the bear to sit on.

Another gift

A few weeks ago I was so lucky to win a Valentines Giveaway over at Miss Sandy blog.

The package with my giveaway arrived in the mail today - and I was so excited to see what I had won as there were several beautiful goodies to win.

The most beautiful 'Kissing Dangle' . The hanger is made of different beads on a wire with buttons and tulle on the top.

The heart are decorated with beautiful valentines images on all sides and the most lovley old fashion glitter on the edges.

A weeks work

During this past week a lot of unfinished projekt ended up on my working table. Scarfs waiting for the decoration, half finished jewelry, fabric heart just sewn together, a head and two arms for a little bear..
When I entered my studio this morning I just couldn´t see my table - I knew I had to have a serious talk with me. So the message was: would you please finish some of those projects before you start on something new...






and so I did. This is what I have worked on this sunday.
The fabric hearts where filled with polyfil and decorated with lace, keys, buttons, tiny roses ect.





Sewn up in the most lovely vintage inspired fabric with old fashion roses on. The photos shows some of the hearts I finished today. The hearts can be purchased here.

Then there was the jewelry. These earrings are made of pieces from an old necklace. I love the color on these pendants. I have added tiny pearls in front and attached them to silver earwires. These earrings together with another pair made of some really pretty silver crowns can be purchased here.

Two new scarfs were finished. I decorated them with tiny pearls in both ends and decorated the safety pin with different pearls too. One scarfs are in a wonderful dusty rose color. The second one - pictured here - are in a beautiful pink color. The scarfs can be purchased here.

Only thing is - the pure little bear is still on my working table without legs and body - pure soul.
I didn´t manage to get that little fellow finished too. Now she is laying on my table looking at me with those sad eyes, thinking: will I ever get any legs and body so I can sit - and who´s going to love me without..
Oh - I better get back to that bearmaking :o)
