Christmas In July

These last couple of days I have been working on Christmas Stuff for my shops. Christmas In July on Etsy and Lollishops is approaching - starting up next week, so I had to be prepared :D

A few weeks ago I found these very speciel cake molds at a flea market nearby.
Though they would be great as a Christmas Ornament
- so I attached a wire with a little pearl as a hanger

and decorated the inside with paper from an old book
and some sweet images of vintage girls

added a bit of silver glitter round the image
and the finished result was these nostalgic ornament

When I think of Christmas, the first thing to pop in my head is tags
lots of tags - I just love all kind of tags

so - I tea dyed some manila tags and decorated them
with images of sweet vintage children

and some silver glitter

These last tags are made of images of Father Christmas
cut out and attached to heavy paper to make them strong.

All the tags are blank on the back to write any message you like.

Aren´t they sweet - I´m going to use them as tags

on christmas gifts to my special ones.

Decorated Boxes

First of all I have to tell you, it hasn´t been of much work in the studio this last week. It has been sooooo hot here in Denmark. Between 82 and 86 - and I know it´s nothing compare to those of you living in the US, but in Denmark with houses without A/C I can tell this is hot... At least for me that is, as I love temperatures below 68 - ha

Anyway - I have had some fun decorating cardboard boxes, and managed to finish two.

This first one is painted with cream acrylic paint outside and in

then decorated with old paper, music sheets
and a sweet vintage image on the outside of the box.

I love that old handle and think it
fits the lid perfect.

I don´t think my husband have more of those
old handles in his gems anymore - I actually don´t think he knew he had them....

anyway - he wasn´t going to use them...

Maybe keep it for myself - I´ll se about that.

I do have plans on a giveaway box though

Just have to have those temperatures to lower a bit first - ha

I´m currently working on some new tags for
the Christmas In July Events on Lollishops and Etsy

and I received my swap partners for the Marie Tags Swap yesterday

so I´m going to prepare the shipping of my tags.

I´ll show you the tags in a post later.

Natures Nest

Natures Nest
a sweet little project with tiny bottles in a nest.

the bottles are about 2 inch high and filled with different items from the nature:

a little white leave

tiny pumpkins

some bits of twigs with some white

and a tiny piece from an old tree with moss

decorated on the outside with a piece of paper from an old book

and a bit of bast.

the bottles are tied with wire to the nest

and a tiny tea dyed tag with a birds nest rubber stamp

is added as a final finish.

A sweet little decoration for your table, on your mantlepiece

at the terrace or whereever you like.

My New Project - Eat Cake

New tags, notecards and a swap

I have been working on new notecards for my shop this last week.

Made from vintage inspired card stock, pieces from an old book and german scraps

I cut out the cards to match my small envelopes

added a pieces from an old book on the front and german scraps with the sweetest flowers and birds on top of the paper

the cards are blank inside, for your personal note
perfect for every occassion

and new tags too
on tea dyed manila tags

for these vintage girls tags I have added a pieces from an old
book first and then the image on top.
Finished with silver glitter glue round the edge of the girls image
and a piece of sea green seam binding.

The most beautiful Garden Journal and two blog Awards

The most beautiful package arrived in the studio today - I just have to share this with you all.

The most lovely sepia tags and a stunning Garden Journal created by Eileen over at Stars Fault

A few weeks ago Eileen created two Beautiful Garden Journals - one in blue and one i cream. She listed those in her Etsy Shop and I was so lucky to get my hands on the cream one - and I do mean lucky, as I keept an eye on her shop for two days waiting for those journals. The blue one sold in the middle of the night my time and on the second day the creamy one was listed in the excact same time as I logged in to Eileens shop - ofcourse I had to have it.

My workingtable

After unpacking from the fair in UK and the photosession and listing of the bears in my new Etsy Shop, it only took me about an hour to get my workingtable to look like this

Lots of stuff for new projects arrive in the studio these days. It´s so exciting. I can hardly wait to get started on all those new ideas popping around in my head.

Newly arrived is..

Beautiful old lace - cream and yummi

Seambinding in the most beautiful colors - like fall, my favorite time of year

more old lace - so, so beautiful. I just love old lace

Yarn in new colors - for scarfs, whrist warmers and felted purses. Don´t those colors look great

A little bit of mohair for more tiny bears - I see some Halloween in there.

Romantic fabric - roses and polka dots. A garland maybe...

Old cloths pins and wooden spools - I have already started a sweet little romantic project with these items. Can´t wait to show you how beautiful they turned out.

Just have to make a tiny bit more - so stay turned

So - what to order next- hhmmm... - maybe more hours in the day - ha

Could I wish for that - just a tiny bit more hours - say about 10 or something...... NO?

Okay - better get of the computer and start working then.

New bears available

Got home from a lovely fair in Stratford-Upon-Avon yesterday. It was so great to meet up with collectors and fellow bearmakers. And I have such a lovely weekend all together. Spend Saturday with the lovely Ruth over at flutter-by-bears and her family. We had such a great time together - cacthing up on some Sheakespeare stuff.



I brough some bears back with me though and some of them is now listed in my brand new Etsy Shop.

Preparing a bear show

So -the time is approaching for the Teddy Bear Artist Event in Stratford-Upon-Avon.

I´ll be leaving on friday, flying in for Birmingham, UK to participate in the show on Sunday June 7th. These last couple of days, I have been busy finishing the last bears and with all the preparations.

Sewn up a table cloth - I´m actually quite excited about if this will fit the table I have got - ha. I got a round table, and the size was measuring in feet, so I had to calculate it to cm. I really do hope I have done it correctly. This is my boxes for the stand - I can have them with me this time, as I will be travelling alone, wich means I´ll have a bit more room in my suitcase.

29 bears waiting for the travel to UK. They are patiently waiting and so excited to find out who will find new homes too.

I´ll be out of the studio from June 5th until June 8th.
The remaining bears will be available just after the fair.

New Necklace

Just before my vacation I came across some vintage german paper, and though it would fit perfect into the cabochon and crown egde cameos that just had arrived in the studio.

I have been wanting to create something with these beautiful cameos for a long time now.

So I ordered some and created this necklace using a piece from and old broken jewelry..

and a sweet little brass bird.

I love the colors on this. I think it came out quite beautiful actually.
