Collage Work

I really like the idea of
combining the collage work with the stitching

I´ve been working with that
making some little kind of 'books'
with no pages inside - sort of a cover like
I´m not sure what to call these
but maybe you know, when you´ve seen my photos

here´s my worktable
with work in progress.
Gathering suppliers for a new piece
I love this stage in the creative process too

starting the background
adding little piece along the way

stitching little piece to add too

here´s a closeup

another one with a blue tone
making the background first
and then the sticthed pieces

they can stand
can you see

I think they are like little books without pages

maybe you know a better word for these
Let me hear.

Spring is around the corner
I´m spending almost all my spare time remodeling
a new 'old ' house.
We´re taking over my MIL´s house
and are going to use it as a summer house.
if everything works out
I´m going to have a second studio

I´ll keep you posted

Wishing you all a beautiful day

Little Stitched Books

I´m trying to combine the stitching love
with my love for bookmaking

here´s some stitching work in progress

and close up on those little squares.
Experimenting with different stitch

cut a pieces of vintage floral fabric
and added some signatures inside

ordinary blank pages inside

close up on the binding.
it´s just some running stitch
to hold the pages - I´m not sure
if there a proper word for this binding.

composing another one

here´s the stitching part
in progress on a beautiful sunny day

a green/turquise cloth for the cover

close up on the front

two little notebooks
with a button as closure.

The covers on these are just cloth
so they' re kind of primitive in a way
but pretty too, I think.

For sale in my shop

Thank you so much for visiting

The First Textile Pieces

remember the cloth pieces I prepared
before my break?

I showed you the beginning here
Now I have them finished
The first ones

I sewed on the word 'Elements' on this piece
my second piece ever
I worked with different tecniques on this
learned something about the thickness of layers
some parts were really hard to stitch through
I like it though

and this one
with circles on it
that turned out like jellyfish and shells

the beginning of new little pieces

left piece finished with a Jellyfish

I´ve also been working on a new shop.
This is for my collages and textile art

This shop is not to replace my Etsy Shop
It´s an experiment
We´ll see if it will work out.

Wishing you all a beautiful weekend

A break too long and an Announcement

this break turned out to be
much longer than expected

december went with waiting
and a cancelled surgery.
a new shedule and little more waiting.

finally a surgery on January 5th
and then a few weeks of recovery.

things are better
I´m almost back to my good old self.
Just need the last check in a week.

I´m sure everything will be fine
I´m almost ready to start to new year

and now to the announcement

A new Year have begun and that means
changings in the studio.

After designing and selling my handmade bears for 13 years
it´s time for me to close down my bearmaking business.

As some of you know, I also work with Collage and Textile Art,
and my desire to develope and work with that
have grown this past year.
And as I still work parttime in a dayjob,
I no longer have the requered
time to keep up with the bear making.

bears through the years

I have enjoyed working with those little souls during those 13 years and have
so many happy memories from that.
I will treasure those for always.

One little bear is left on my wesite
go here to have a look
and lots of mohair, mini bear fabric and suppliers
have been listed here

Will be back soon
to share what´s going on in the studio

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend

Slowing down - Working with Fabric

The holiday season is here
I´m slowing down
it´s a need and a must.

This year have been a very stressful year for me
it´s time for some quiet days.

I´m going to catch up on my workshops

these are samplers
the beginning of little quilts
or the play with fabric

inspired by Jude Hill
I signed up a workshop over at Spirit Cloth
I love her style

little details on my first sampler

and here it is .- finished
worked on this for days
while waiting for the result of xray and biopsy
with tiny little stitches
only thing I was capable of

the start of the second one
weawed the base
and added elements

a little experiment with handdying and rust

didn´t turned out quite as I wanted.
need the practice more
and find out the secrets
but I did get some pretty marks

weawing across the moon
Jude is so good at this
I wanted to try - had too many layers
Going to give it another try

results came from hospital
everything was benign
only need a surgery on dec. 22th

more elements

I´m not sure where this will take me.
I´m just enjoying the slow work with tiny stitches
as for now

exploring and learning

Collage work and a feature

I´ve been working a lot with Collage Art lately.

I´m currently working on pieces for my
Craft Fair coming up in a week - I´ll show you more later.

I´ve also been working in my
'100 days of collage' book.
I came across the project over at Stephanie Levy
a collage artist from Berlin, and thought it would be a great
challenge for me.
I haven´t done the 100 days yet, but am working slowly ahead.
I plan to fill the hole book - way more than 100 pages.

Here´s some of my pages

this is how my book looks right now

Michelle from Seaweedkisses
have been following me some time on Instagram.
She´s hosting a blog segment called
The Journals Diaries
and asked me, if she could feature me and my work in her series.
Of course she could
I´m so very honoured.
Go have a look here

Thank you SO much Michelle

Wishing you all a wonderful sunday
